A distinct Avenger wreck off Point Loma, separate from both the deep (~250') TBM-3S2 and the shallower (~170') "upside-down" Avenger already in our TBM Avenger record.

Technical dive. Visibility has historically been poor (5-10' with particulate) on identification dives; tech certification required.
History
Identified as a WWII TBF-1C Avenger, Bureau Number 24272 ("F" = Grumman-built, vs. the General Motors-built "M" variants). Nicknamed "Full Stall Landing" by the discovery team: she suffered a full power failure and stalled: both crew members survived and were rescued shortly after hitting the water - no fatalities. Identification was made through community collaboration (a WW2Aircraft.net forum discussion reached consensus on the type), and located using overlaid sonar/historical data.
