Overview
Downed in about 120' of water, the plane is in recognizable pieces. Fish netting covers a portion of the engine and the wings. The wings and cabin are directly behind the engine about 20' away. The fuselage is about 15-20' behind the wings and cabin. Covered in sealife, you will enjoy this new treasure to SD's diving community!

Strong Currents. Must be able to Navigate back to the anchor! Visibility 15-80 ft. Water 50-56°F. About 90 min transit.
History
Identified as an F4U-4 Corsair variant (per wreckedinmyrevo.com's engine-detail research). As of the most recent published research, the specific aircraft - bureau number, pilot, cause and date of loss - has not been confirmed; this is genuinely still an open research item, not just a placeholder. Discovered via coordinates while diving the USS Hogan; among the first three sets of divers on the wreck as of 2020. We are still in the research phase of discovering the history of this plane.
